In our meetings you will see signs, wonders and miracles. The moving of the Holy Spirit may be in ways different than you are use to. The following verses from the Word of God may answer some questions you may have:
Why do we stand when we sing?
"And the Levites. . .of the children of the Kohathites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high."II Chronicles 20:19
Why do we clap our hands?
"O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." Psalm 47:1
Why do we lift our hands?
"Thus I will bless Thee while I live; I will lift up my hands in Thy Name." Psalm 63:4
"Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord." Psalm 134:2
"I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting." I Timothy 2:8
Why do we have audible praise unto God?
"Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me bless His Holy Name." Psalm 103:1
"I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth." Psalm 34:1
"And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God. . ." Acts 4:24
Why do we sing in tongues and in English?
"For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also." I Corinthians 14:14-15
Why do we have this type of worship?
"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth." John 4:23-24
"For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh." Philippians 3:3
Why do we prophesy?
". . .the Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy?" Amos 3:8
"But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort." I Corinthians 14:3
"Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy." I Corinthians 14:1
"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. . .To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy. . ." I Corinthians 12:7, 10
"For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be comforted." I Corinthians 14:31
"Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. I Corinthians 14:29
Why do we have speaking with tongues and interpretation of those tongues?
"Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues."I Corinthians 14:39
"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. . .To another divers kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues." I Corinthians 12:7, 10
"I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied; for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying."I Corinthians 14:5
"If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most three, and that by course, and let one interpret."I Corinthians 14:27
Why can't some stand in His Presence?
"Now when He said to them, "I am He," they drew back and fell to the ground." John 18:6
"I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me. . ." Acts 22:7
"And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, ‘Do not be afraid, I am the First and the Last’." Revelation 1:17
"When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground. . ." II Chronicles 7:3
Why are musical instruments a part of the worship service?
"Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the psaltry and harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance. Praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals; Praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals." Psalms 150:3-5
"And I heard a voice from heaven as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder; and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps." Revelation 14:2
Why do we lay hands on people?
One of the six elementary principals of Christ, "The doctrine of laying on of hands." Hebrews 6:1-2
"Then the little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray." Matthew 19:13
Why do we anoint with oil and pray for the sick?
"Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him." James 5:14-15
Why do we dance?
"Then David danced before the Lord with all his might." II Samuel 6:14a
"Let them praise His Name with the dance." Psalms 149:3a
Why so some seem/look drunk?
"But these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel." Acts 2:15--16
"Do not be drunk with wine. . .but be filled with the Spirit." Ephesians 5:19
Why is the joy of the Lord so vitally important?
". . .For the joy of the Lord is your strength." Nehemiah 8:10
"Our mouth was filled with laughter. . .those that sow in tears will reap in joy." Psalms 126:2, 5
